As the year draws to a close I am filled with the deepest gratitude and profound emotions for the year that’s been. As I reflect, I am taken back to 17 March 2016 when I slipped in the rain and fell at my son’s school at midday, head concussed, suffered a complex fracture and dislocation of my right ankle. The injury involved a spiral fracture of the fibula and lateral malleolus, an oblique fracture of the medial malleolus and a transverse fracture of the posterior aspect of the tibia. Surgery included open reduction and internal fixation with titanium plates and 11 screws. I was bedridden for 3 months, in a cast, on crutches, moved around in a wheelchair. In my prayer time, I said to my God, that WHEN He heals me and raises me, I didn’t say IF…I knew I was going to be healed, that I am going to raise my hand, show up, live fully and do what He has called me to do. Fast forward to 2017…I raised my hand, I showed up, I didn’t postpone anything I aimed to do this year. I cooked(my passion), I danced, I laughed, I loved and I stood in the light of my own truth. I celebrated each day I was blessed with. I was fully present in each moment I was presented with at work, at home, with my friends. Everyday I counted my blessings and fully appreciated the sanctity of life. I am thankful for the highs and the lows, the good and not so good. I have learned much and remain open to new learnings. Don’t wait for a life-changing event before you step into your greatness and destiny. Love, Live, Laugh!!! #YearOfYes #ThankYou Wishing you a year with: ■New Dreams ■ New Hopes ■ New Perspectives ■New Goals ■New Aspirations Happy 2018 beautiful people.??? ? @sbu_kandee
