Veteran actress Lillian Dube received an Honorary Doctorate from the Tshwane University of Technology yesterday. The DTech (Honoris Causa) Drama & Film Production degree is for her work that spans over 30 years.
Dube began her career as Baratang in the popular 90’s drama series Mopheme and then Sister Bettina in Soul City – a real-life television drama which focuses on health and development issues which mirror those of the South African population.
Since then, she has been in numerous productions including Generations and Skwizas which she created under her production company. She has also acted in movies like Cry the Beloved Country, Oh Shucks I’m Gatvol, There’s a Zulu on my Stoep and The Ring and African Skies.
We can’t wait to see what else she has in-store for us!
Lillian has received an outpouring of congratulatory messages from industry peers like Vatiswa Ndara and Mmabatho Montsho.
