DJ Fresh joins 947

DJ Fresh joins 947 as the new drivetime host. The star’s show, Fresh on 947, will air on weekdays from 3 pm to 7 pm starting on 1 August. He will be joined by Manstoe as a co-host.

In a statement from the radio station, Fresh shared his excitement at the news saying in part: “I look forward to engaging with my loyal following at my new home, 947. I started my radio career as an afternoon drive presenter and look forward to joining 947 for my new show, in this new timeslot. Listeners can expect good music, comedy and lively debate on the trending issues of the day. If you love 947, the Big Dawg loves you!”

947 station manager, Thando Makhunga, said in part: “DJ Fresh has been in the game for more than twenty years, and as far as radio heavyweights go, he ranks amongst the best. Fresh loves Joburg as much as we do, and we look forward to welcoming the Big Dawg to 947.”

This comes a few weeks after Fresh was fired from the Metro FM after allegedly using foul language on air.
