Award-winning gospel singer Dr Tumi tells us why he wants to gather people at Ticketpro Dome.
1. My love for gospel music began at a young age. When I was nine years old, I used to sing and play the keyboard in church. My dad was a huge inspiration. He took me to music stores where I learnt more about music. Over the years, I have grown to love the positive impact that gospel music brings to people’s lives and I love being a part of it.
2. I temporarily stopped working as a doctor to focus on my music career. I believe I have a calling to heal people as a medical practitioner and as a gospel singer. But it became difficult for me to juggle both demands, so I had to choose one. I decided to focus on my music career because the calling to spread the word of God through worship music was greater and I couldn’t deny it.
3. I’m planning to fill up the the 20 000-capacity indoor venue. I want to bring people from all walks of life together under one roof for the live recording of my DVD. I will also use this opportunity to share a message of love and unity. I believe that my music can heal tormented souls and bring positive change to people’s lives. Filling up the Dome is one of the ways I’m using to achieve this. I’m excited and I can’t wait to be on that stage.
The live DVD recording will take place on 20 August at the Ticketpro Dome.
