With the long weekend ahead of us, there are plenty of reasons to jump up in celebration; it could be that you are looking forward to attending all the church events in the spirit of Good Friday, or that you are happy you will just get to sleep in for the next three days.
We ask 8 of SA celebs what they will be up to:
ISIBAYA AND AYEYE ACTRESS -JESSICA NKOSI
I missed the chance to book a flight home, so I took a drive there. To me Easter is about spending time with the family and I spend the entire weekend at church.
HIP HOP ARTIST – PROVERB
The Easter weekend is definitely a family time for me, apart from it being spiritual weekend of course. My family and my brother’s family will be driving down to Bloemfontein to be with my father. I am looking forward to the usual Easter meals that include homemade cross buns and fish.
METRO FM PRESENTER -SAMMY SOSO
I have just started at Metro FM, so this weekend I will be working, and am looking forward to that. I will also be celebrating my partner’s birthday and what I am really looking forward to is emceeing the Chris Brown concert in Durban.
METRO FM PRESENTER -LERATO KGANYAGO
I am Christian so it is important to me to celebrate Good Friday at church. I will also use this time to be with family. However, more than anything I am looking forward to working and doing my first show on Metro FM this weekend. I hope everyone will be listening.
REALITY TV STAR AND PRESENTER -DINEO RANAKA
Easter weekend symbolises family time. It is a time to give thanks and praise. I will spend my Friday night at my sister’s house with the family to catch the very first episode of Dineo’s Dairy season 4. It will be a relaxed weekend which may end with Church on Sunday.
PRESENTER -BUJI
I use to go to church on the Easter weekend, but will admit that is has shifted from being a Holy week, to being a holiday. My friends and I have planned a weekend away in the lost city – Sun City.
PRESENTER- LUNGA SHABALALA
I am usually with family around this time of year, but I won’t get the chance to do that this year as I will be getting ready for the Two Oceans Marathon on Friday, then actually taking part on Saturday, to then rest on Sunday.
RADIO AND TV PRESENTER -CYPRIAN NDLOVU
My family and I are usually together in celebration on the Easter weekend. But this year, we will be together in mourning for the funeral of my aunt and God Mother in Durban on Sunday. Before that I will be working my first radio show on YFM, and looking forward to it.
