The Annual Met Gala took place last night and the who’s who of Showbiz was in attendance. Here’s a look at our fashion hits and misses.
The Carters
Jay-Z and Beyoncé were a fashion powerhouse. They were both dressed by Givenchy. Beyoncé kept it edgy and daring while Jay- Z complimented her perfectly in a clean-cut suit. A definite hit!
Gabrielle Union
Lupita Nyong’o
Unfortunately for these lovely ladies, the international fashion label Prada didn’t do them any justice in these feather detailed pieces. We’ve seen them in much better outfits. Quite disappointing.
Lala and Carmelo Anthony
The colour purple definitely is a good look for Lala. This dress fits her perfectly although we would’ve altered the cleavage area as less is always more, and Carmelo could’ve done without the top hat.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Only one word comes to mind when looking at this couple’s outfit…. Boring. The dress did nothing for Kim’s body and didn’t flatter her in any way. Better luck next time guys.
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen
Chrissy was elegant and dazzled in a Ralph Lauren dress. Although we feel it could’ve done without the exaggerated neck detail she looked stunning nonetheless. John Legend on the other hand looked like he was part of the opera.
Janelle Monae
For some reason the songstress always seems to look the same, and we love the cape but the dark colours are boring. Next time we hope to see some other colour in her next outfit.
Rihanna
Rihanna knows how to work the red carpet and once again she reminded us why she’s called a fashion icon. This dress was a great example of how to be both glamorous and sexy. We love it!
Joan Smalls
International model, Joan Smalls looked like she just stepped off the runway. A metallic dress with a tulle skirt is a winning combination. She looked super-hot from head to toe.
Rita Ora
Rita Ora can do so much better than this. There was just far too much going on with this whole ensemble, unfortunately it was a fail in our eyes.
