Last night international celebs graced the red carpet to attend The Golden Globe awards. Here’s a look at who dazzled and who disappointed.
Kerry Washington
Kerry’s gown didn’t leave much to be desired. The two-toned dress came off as somewhat rigid and didn’t do the beautiful starlet any justice. It would have been great to see her in something a bit more youthful and age-appropriate.
Chrissy Teigan
John Legend’s wife stunned us in an off-white lace embellished dress. The form-fitting number was elegant, classy and red carpet-worthy. On a side note, we would like to congratulate her husband, John Legend on hi win for Best Original Song – Motion Picture “Glory” from the movie Selma.
Jennifer Lopez
JLO has become too obsessed with wearing dresses that have the most possible amount of slits at any given event. We get that she has a banging body but sometimes it can be overkill. The dress itself was rather underwhelming and in our opinion it would’ve looked better if it didn’t have the slits on the arms.
Kevin Hart and Eniko Parrish
We’re not completely convinced by the white outline detail on Kevin’s blazer. When it comes to award ceremonies men need to keep it classic, solid and tailored in black, navy or grey. Eniko Parrish was noticeable but not memorable in a skin tight white dress.
Lupita Nyong’o
Lupita’s gown was a bit of everything and a lot of nothing. The top part of her dress was frumpy in the sense that the 3D floral applique detail was overwhelming for her small frame. The bottom half could have worked had it not been so messy. Here’s hoping she redeems herself at her next red carpet sighting.
Uzo Aduba
We can’t say that we were blown away by Orange is the New Black actress Uzo Aduba. What we will say though is that the cut of the dress flattered her body and shaped her figure to a tee. Her hair and make-up were also very complimentary to the whole look. Props to her glam squad!
Viola Davis
Viola kept it safe in a red fish tail number. Although she looked very typical in terms of what we’ve come to expect at an awards ceremony we can’t fault the effort.
Khloe Kardashian
Khloe looked fierce in all black. The high leg slit matched with the high neckline and cinched waist was all things fashion and she owned it. She was head-to-toe perfection and we love, love, LOVED IT!!
Tia Mowry
This dress would have been everything if it were just a bit tighter. It had too much excess fabric and the exaggerated sleeves were not given enough room to dominate and exude the high fashion quality she was trying to achieve. She fell one step short of a hit.
Amber Rose
Some women don’t know how to get tongues wagging unless they are showing some skin and sadly Amber is one of those women. It was refreshing to see her fully-clothed on the red carpet for a change but her dress was boring and lacked any effort.
Nene Leakes
Nene doesn’t automatically spring to mind when we think of people to put on a “best dressed” list but this time around she proved us wrong. Her dress was classy with a touch of sexy and everything, from the style to the hair and make-up worked. The only thing we would’ve changed is to remove the plunging neckline slit – it has officially been done to death.
Tamar Braxton and Tamera Mowry
Tamar smouldered in a red feminine floor length gown which suited the occasion well. Tamera, however, fell flat in her dress and didn’t pull off anything worth mentioning or highlighting.
