Here’s the lowdown on who wore what at the Grammy Awards last night.
Ashanti
Ashanti looked frumpy and this wasn’t the best dress choice for her body.
Babyface
Babyface proved that all black is always a safe route when it comes to men’s’ fashion #ErrorFree
Beyonce
We were a bit disappointed by Beyonce’s. The material and style of the dress made her look slightly heavy and it wasn’t the best we’ve seen her in. She did win 3 categories though, becoming the second-most honored woman in Grammy. Bigs ups to her for that.
Big Sean and Ariana Grande
Ariana’s dress was confusing. The silver detail was distracting and unnecessary. A different choice of shoe would’ve worked better as well.
Chris Brown
Although Breezy also decided to go with the black route, he gave it a bit of rock star edge by accessorising it with a bowler hat and trendy round framed sunglasses. The loafers and pocket square also gave the suit a touch of cool.
Ciara
Ciara was a bombshell in this dress. The abstract asymmetrical creation was absolutely stunning. Sometimes celebs wear dresses that completely overwhelm them but Ciara managed to carry this one off beautifully. Those leg – Wowzers!
Iggy Azelia
Iggy’s dress was quite simple, but it worked for her body and flattered her shape really well.
Jennifer Hudson
Jennifer looked like the mother of a bride in her boobtube number. It was so boring and her shoes were horrid. Not a good look for the young singer.
John Legend and Chrissy Teigan
The suit worn by John seemed borrowed. It didn’t fit him well and needed just a bit more tailoring. Chrissy looked good in white but we’re not completely convinced with the cut out detail and felt the dress could’ve done without it.
Kat Graham
Kat was ladylike in monochrome. We love that she decided to keep her make-up minimal and her hair out of her face as the dress was already loud.
Kim and Kanye West
Kim’s dress was busy and overwhelming. The beading was excessive and she was over-exposed. Kanye’s boots were ill matched with his suit.
Lady Gaga
Gaga looked like she was about to burst out of her dress. Thigh high slit and plunging neckline are a fashion no-no.
Madonna
Madonna will never get it right… she constantly fails on the red carpet so this is no surprise at all. She looked shocking and her outfit was laughable.
Miley Cyrus
High five to Miley Cyrus for being dressed for a change. She still kept things a little sexy with the cut out element of her dress but she actually looked really good overall.
Ne-yo
Another man wearing all black, how unimaginative and boring.
Nicki Minaj
We still can’t get enough of the new Nicki… she was a beauty in this black number. The shredded skirt was different but it worked.
Pharrell and Wife
One thing Pharrell always gets props for is actually trying to be creative and breaking away from the norm and for that reason we can’t fault the all white suit. We’re not quite sure what the vision was behind the cat suit Pharell’s wife decided to wear. Nothing about it was appealing….epic fail.
Rihanna
Why Riri, why? There a very few times Rihanna disappoints us on the carpet and this was unfortunately one of those times. This dress completely overwhelmed her and she looked like a life size cupcake. It’s a sad situation when wardrobe malfunctions happen to fashion icons.
Rita Ora
Rita was a walking disco ball in this sequinned dress. A little too shimmery for our taste but for some odd reason she didn’t look terrible.
Toni Braxton
Toni was another celeb who fell victim to the slit and plunging neckline. The silver embellished piece on the neckline of the dress looked misplaced because it was too long. Ultimately it wasn’t a bad effort from Toni but it also wasn’t our favourite. Though she didn’t win best dressed on our list, she did win Best R & B Album for Love, Marriage and Divorce with Babyface.
