The Jacaranda FM presenter and Generations actor lets us in on his journey in the entertainment industry.
1. My love for music shaped my career path. For as long as I can remember, music has always been an integral part of my life. I often found refuge in it when times were tough. Even when I was working as a truck driver or sales representative, after hours I focused on turning my passion for music into a fulfilling career.
2. The Foot in the Door talent search helped to make my dreams come true. Working for a radio station was my lifelong dream. So, when I saw the talent search on Facebook, I knew that this was the lucky break I had been waiting for. I hitch-hiked to the auditions and gave it my all because my heart and soul were in it. Even at the auditions, I knew that I would get the job.
3. I’m proud to call myself a Jacaranda FM presenter. I love my job, and can’t imagine doing anything else. I host The Workzone with Mack Rapapali from 9am to 12pm on weekdays, and This is Mack Rapapali from 6am to 10am on Sundays. Both shows are fun, upbeat and unpretentious. Listeners are informed about the latest trends while listening to sing-along music.
4. I believe that I was not born poor to die poor. I was born with nothing and raised with very little; there were times when my mother was unemployed and we survived on my grandmother’s pension. My hardships made me realise that I have to work hard for myself and family. I don’t want to die a poor man, but as a man who lived a peaceful and happy life. I also believe that dreams do come true, if you just believe.
