Actor Idris Elba is set to host the Africa Day Benefit Concert At Home in partnership with ViacomCBS Networks Africa and YouTube. The concert is aimed at raising funds to help children and families that are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in Africa.

The 2-hour concert will be headlined by the continent’s superstars such as Sho Madjozi, Nasty C, AKA, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Diamond Platnumz, Sauti Sol, Yemi Alade, Fally Ipupa, StoneBwoy, Teni and Angelique Kidjo. More artists are set to be announced closer to the date.
The Africa Day Benefit Concert At Home will broadcast and stream live to millions of viewers in Africa and around the world on MTV channels and on the MTV Base Africa YouTube channel.
Speaking on the benefit concert, Idris shared in part; “Taking a moment to shine a light on African arts to benefit the African homeland and its people. A continent of this size should find a way to dig deep and stand up for one another at a time like this. It’s important for the future and history will not forget.”
The Africa Day Benefit Concert At Home will take place on 25 May 2020 on MTV Base Africa YouTube channel.
