‘Beauty and brains’ were words already used to describe former Miss SA Shudufhadzo Musina. However, she recently stunned the country when she was revealed as the Blue Crane on the second season of ‘The Masked Singer South Africa’.
Shudufhadzo competed against some of the country’s most well-known musicians Jimmy Nevis and SbuNoah, and managed to secure the runner-up position, losing to Warren Masemola who wore the Girrafe mask.
The 27-year-old is booked and busy as she is set to make her acting debut in the upcoming series Queen Modjadj, and is looking to add making music to her already multifaceted career. “After being on the show, it’s safer to say that I am ready to pursue a music career.”
When asked, Shudu spoke about how intentional she was with her song choices on The Masked Singer SA, as they spoke to the type of music and artist she would one day like to be.“I sang Adorn by Miguel, which I believe is the most perfect song ever. This process made me think about the kind of music I would make. I’m no dancer hence I prefer music that allows me to flow.” said the former Miss SA. “Eddie Zondi is the reason why I fell for R&B and soul. I’m an old soul when it comes to music, music that could be playing while you’re cooking.” she continued to say.
Maps Maponyane, who is Shudu’s alleged lover took to her Instagram to comment “I genuinely can’t get over how beautiful this is. You are truly so gifted and you need to drop that EP and take all our money” urging Shudu to release what seems like a completed EP. Some fans also congratulated Shudu on her successful run in the competition.
“My best-kept secret is no longer a secret. I can’t believe I got to sing my favourite songs. Thank you so much @maskedsingerza
For making my dream come true.” captions Shudu as she reflects on her journey on the show.
