Local film Losing Lerato has earned 6 nominations at a US film festival, the Idyllwild International Festival Of Cinema in California. The film tells the story of a young black man who takes matters into his own hands by kidnapping his daughter afterlife, the law, and the woman he once loved separates him from his child.
The film’s lead actor and producer Kagiso Modupe shared that exciting news on social media. He said in part; “I’m excited and honoured to announce to that #LosingLerato has been nominated and will be screening at the @IdyFest in Palm Springs, California next month. Please join me in congratulating the following fine cast and crew for their nominations.”

Losing Lerato received 6 nominations which include best actor for Kagiso Modupe and best supporting actor for Thato Molamu, best actress for Samela Tyelbooi and best supporting actress for Tshimollo Modupe, best director for Sanele Zulu and best cinematography for Gavin Sterrley.
