Rikhado Makhado, known by his stage name Riky Rick, is one of South Africa’s leading hip hop rappers who offer a different flare to rap music. His sound is more of a mbaqanga sound fused with kwaito, electro and, of course, hip hop. However, his music isn’t the only reason we love Mr Makhado.
HIS BEARD
A lot of men cannot pull off a good, clean-shaved beard, but Riky Rick is clearly one of the few who can. We acknowledge the beard as part of his look; it’s basically his trademark. The beard makes him appear a lot more handsome, don’t you think?
TATTOOS
Riky Rick’s tattoos make him look gangster, and, yes, there is something extraordinary about this, because they are unique tattoos that symbolise what he stands for, and complete his edgy and cool look. (Disclaimer: By no means are we condoning tattoos).
ON POINT DRESS CODE
Yes, he doesn’t really stick out like a sore thumb with his fashion attire, but he knows how to dress well, and does it subtly. There is nothing as great as a guy who knows how to dress.
HE IS MUSIC TO OUR EARS
It would not make sense not to love Riky for his music; he is one of the best in the rap game. In comparison to other hip hop artists, he holds it down, and continues to surprise his fans and those who love hip hop music – he sets a distinguished sound that no other hip hop artist can match up to.
FAMILY MAN
The father of two has always been very open about the love he has for his children. There is something sweet and pleasant about a man who is a good father and maintains this relationship.
HIP HOP’S BIGGEST FAN
Unlike most hip hop artists who are just focused on their success, Riky Rick is one of the few that supports other local artists and keeps a healthy relationship with his competition. It is great that he would rather fight for other artists to do well than create any beef.
