Signing with Gallo Records has allowed me to focus on making music. Being an independent artist meant that I was in charge of all aspects of my career. This left me with little time to focus on creating music for my new album, Iphupha Labantu. Signing with a record company has made life easier. The label handles my public relations, admin and bookings.

It took me two weeks to record the album. I always have new music because I write all the time. Having a bank of music makes the process easier because you have a vast selection to choose from. It also helps me spend little time in the recording studio.

Iphupha Labantu was named by my fans. It used to be the slogan for my entertainment company, Mankayi Media. The slogan was aimed at encouraging people who grew up in rural areas and townships to keep believing in their dreams because they are valid and achievable. Fans that follow my Facebook page saw the slogan and kept asking if it was the name of my next album. And, since they had already settled on the idea, I decided to use it.
I want this album to make people feel good about themselves. I want people to listen to my album and forget about their problems. The album aims to spread messages of faith, being true to yourself and the importance of love.
