Jahmil X.T. Qubeka‘s film 2018 film Sew The Winter to My Skin has bagged 13 AMAA award nominations. The Africa Movie Academy Awards recognize the excellence of professionals in the film industry. The film’s nominations include Best Director, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Film and Best Achievement in Cinematography among others.
Set in the rural Great Karoo region in the 1950’s, this racially charged and violent film looks at the life of a black rebel hero who is a threat to the colonial farming community. It boasts a star-studded cast which includes stars Ezra Mabengeza, Bongile Mantsai, Noomhle Nkonyeni, Mandisa Nduna, Zolisa Xaluva and Carlo Radebe.
