Award-winning musicians Sho Madjozi and Cassper Nyovest are set to perform at Global Citizen’s One World: Together At Home concert this weekend. The multi-hour digital broadcast aims to raise money for its COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund and celebrate health care workers fighting on the front lines.
The musos were announced as part of the second round of artist announcements which include Nomzamo Mbatha and Black Coffee. They join a prestigious list of international entertainers such as Alicia Keys, Usher, Burna Boy, Kerry Washington, Jennifer Hudson and Oprah among others.
Speaking on the concert, Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evan said in a statement; “As we honor and support the heroic efforts of community health workers, ‘One World: Together At Home’ aims to serve as a source of unity and encouragement in the global fight to end COVID-19. Through music, entertainment and impact, the global live-cast will celebrate those who risk their own health to safeguard everyone else’s.”
The global special is a joint effort between Gaga, The World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Global Citizen
The One World: Together At Home concert will air on 18 April 0n several online platforms.
The special will air on 19 April 19 at 21 pm on MTV Africa (DStv channel 130) and MTV base (DStv Channel 322) and repeats Monday 20 April at 16:30 CAT on BET Africa (DStv Channel 129) and Comedy Central (DStv channel 122).
