The Swiss Supreme Federal Court has suspended the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) decision to restrict testosterone levels in female athletes. The regulation affected Caster Semenya‘s ability to compete in the 400m, 800m and 1 500m events in which she was required to take medically-prescribed drugs to lower her testosterone levels.

The Olympic champion challenged the athletics’ governing body ruling which was upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Caster’s lawyer, Gregg Nott, shared the exciting news during an interview on 702 saying in part: “The court has ordered the IAAF to suspend immediately the implementation of the regulation with regard to Caster and has given the IAAF until 25 June to respond to the suspense of effect. It is absolutely positive news.”
Caster celebrated the news by sharing an inspirational quote on social media.
