1.How do we connect music to rugby?

Sport and music have always gone so well together. Just like sport brings people together, so too does music and the combination of the two can be very powerful.

2. Who wrote the lyrics, was it hard? Where did the inspiration come from?

Stoan wrote an awesome rap and Oskido and Professor came up with the ‘Habashwe, Let’s do this‘ hook. I wrote my verse and it came quite naturally. The song is a call to all South Africans to rally behind our team, the Bokke and in essence help them bring home that third Rugby world cup trophy! “Our voices come alive, everyone unites, this is the time right now” The vibe of these lyrics just felt right for the song.

3. Shosholoza is one of the oldest songs in SA sports, more so rugby. Why didn’t you incorporate that into the new song?

Shosholoza will always remain a legendary stand-alone SA anthem. Our brief was to create something fresh, new and unique and that’s what we did.

4. How did the collaboration between the different artists come together?

SABC 2 and Oskido hand-picked the feature artists. They wanted the song to speak to all South Africans and cross all cultural boundaries. I think our crossover appeal and had a lot to do with us all being selected.

5. How good is your rugby knowledge? Who is your favourite player between Lwazi Mvovo and Beast, why?

My rugby knowledge is so, so I’d say :). I’m a Blue Bulls supporter because I grew up in Pretoria but I really like Lwazi Mvovo because he’s an exciting winger and the back-line positions are always so exciting!

6. What do you like about rugby?

My family was big rugby supporters and it was a popular sport at my high school. It always brought people together to eat, drink and show love for the game and I love that vibe.

7. Have you ever played any sports? If so, what was it and what did you like about it?

I haven’t ever played rugby if that’s what you’re asking, ha ha! But in school I took part in swimming, gymnastics and also played hockey, tennis and did athletics.

8. How are you keeping healthy now?

I do yoga, ballet, pilates and love doing regular juice cleanses.

9. A healthy you is…. a happy you!
