World-renowned producer and DJ Black Coffee talked about his new music and finding himself during an Instagram Live interview with Siyabonga Scoop Ngwekazi. The star shared what fans can expect from his upcoming album which is preceded by the new single with American singer Sabrina Claudio titled SBCNCSLY.
Speaking on the song Black Coffee shared that the song was the core of who he as a producer. He said in part; “Because of travelling and experiencing different things, listening to different music, you grow into a space where you wanna do other things musically. But there’s a core, there’s always a core of who you are as an artist and that song is that. It’s not trying to be a club song. It’s not trying to be a number one hit, it’s just a beautiful song. And so I’m excited for people to hear that song and really enjoy it because it is the core of who I am as a producer.”
Black Coffee was scheduled for an extensive tour which was set to begin in March but was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. He shared that the lockdown has provided him with much-needed time to reflect on his life. He said in part; “Last year l was on the road like crazy. And it happened at the worst time of my life, where I was going through a divorce. But I never had time to really take things in because I had to wake up and go, wake up and go every day and work. So it was somehow not helping me fix me inside and understand, I’m a winner.”
He continued; “I’m a winner and this is the one thing l thought l would win at, but l failed. And how do I sit down and account to that. What was my contribution to my loss? This is a blessing for me, to be here and to be home. To now start asking myself the questions.”
