Media mogul Oprah received the 2018 Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award at the 75th annual Golden Globes this weekend. The award recognizes its recipients for their outstanding work in the world of entertainment. She is the first black woman to receive the award and gave an earth-shattering speech that moved the room to a standing ovation. In her speech she touched on issues of race, the #metoo campaign and recognized Recy Taylor, a woman who was raped by 6 armed white men in 1944 in Alabama.
