The daughter of late Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa and Kelly Khumalo is proving that the athletic genes of her father run deep in her veins.
Senzo Meyiwa tragically lost his life in 2014. He was shot and killed during a home invasion at his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s house in Vosloorus. At the time of his death, he was just 30 years old.
The incident sparked widespread outrage and shock across South Africa, with many paying tribute to the beloved goalkeeper. The Soweto derby between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs was even postponed as a mark of respect.
In the years following Senzo’s death, there have been several developments in the case. In 2020, five men were charged with his murder, although they denied any involvement. Despite the ongoing investigations, justice has yet to be served for Senzo’s family and fans.
Recently, a video of their daughter Thingo playing the same position as his father did in soccer moved Senzo’s fans.
In the video shared by the mother on her Instagram page, Thingo was at a football match with other young children. Thingo was standing in front of the net, ready to be her team’s last line of defence.
