Weddings are said to be about the bride but what happens when one of the bride’s wedding conditions does not accommodate one of the bridesmaids?
A conversation that was screenshot between friends (bride and a bridesmaid) sparked a lot of debate on X former Twitter, where a bridesmaid explained to the bride that she wouldn’t be going to the wedding as there was a “no kids allowed rule” that did not accommodate her child.
Sharing this with her friend, the bridesmaid wrote:
“Hey Chom. I do have something to tell you though.”
She went on to add:
I am so sorry to do this, but I will not be attending the wedding because in the invite you clearly stated that kids would not be allowed. Getting a nanny is too expensive and my family isn’t available to babysit. So, I’m not coming.”
Clearly unhappy the bride to be asked her friend why she shared that close to the time knowing she was one of the bridesmaids.
The friend then asked if she could bring her child with the bride explaining that if she makes that exception, she’d have to make it for everyone else.
Sharing the conversation on X, user @Simphiweyinkos_ posed a question to her followers asking if the bride was wrong for her wedding condition.
Is the bride wrong for not being considerate of her bridesmaid’s situation? pic.twitter.com/WUUVR6zy6U

Internet users had this to say:
No if the bridesmaid was serious and happy for the bride, she should’ve sort this all by herself. In fact the bride should replace her

Bride isn’t wrong, but shouldn’t catch feelings either when the bridesmaid can’t come coz she has a kid to look after.

She is very inconsiderate but then, why didn’t the bridesmaid say it before hand. She clearly had the intention of messing up the train for her friend. It’s not fair.. The two of them should find a middle ground to agree on a solution and patch things up.

One user saw things differently, commenting:
Yes, usile umakoti, a wedding is a beautiful thing kids should witness.
