South African actor David Rees, known for his role as Chris Welman on 7de Laan, recently suffered a heart attack at his home in Johannesburg.
According to ZiMoja, the family of the actor confirmed the news stating that he had since moved from ICU to high care.
Unfortunately, his family further admits that since the actor doesn’t have medical aid, it has taken a toll not just on physical health but his finances as well. “David, sadly, lacks medical aid. This fact intensifies an already daunting journey. No donation is too big or too small; each gesture of kindness means the world,” his family said.
David’s family have asked for donations towards his medical care. “We believe in the strength of community, unity and collective support. Let’s rally behind David and showcase our love and support. With unity, we can truly bring about miracles and touch lives. Open your hearts, spread the word and let’s create a wave of love that ensures David and his family know they aren’t alone,” they plead.
His family are grateful for all the support they’ve received and hope he recovers fast, ZiMoja reports.”He is making progress and we are so thankful for all the love and messages from his 7de Laan colleagues, fans, friends and family,” his family added. 7de Laan has since raised R80 000 to help cover his medical bills.
7de Laan publicist, Corlia Strauss, told ZiMoja that he is recovering well. “He has made significant progress and we hope all goes well. His family is grateful for all the support through this time.”
