South Africans can start getting ready for yet another popular American show that will make its way to the motherland after Nick Cannon announced that his highly popular comedy show Wild ‘n Out will be coming to the motherland.
Wild ‘n Out is an American sketch comedy and rap battle improve game show hosted by actor and comedian, Nick Cannon.
After first airing in July 2005 the show is one of the most popular MTV productions, especially among young people.
Viewers enjoy the feeling of seeing two teams of comedians against each other in a series of games which are improvised into comedy. The two teams participating is the Platinum Squad permanently captained by Nick Cannon, and the Black squad led by a celebrity guest.
After being on air for nearly 20 years, Nick Cannon recently took to his Instagram account to announce that the show will be heading to African soil.
Sharing the exciting news, he wrote: “Africa, are you ready?! We bringing Wild ‘n Out to the Motherland!
“I’m looking for the funniest and most talented people on the continent! Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Botswana, Ghana, Egypt, Morocco, Ethiopia, Somalia, Cape Town and Johannesburg! What country has the best comedians? We are about to find out! Tag them, comment and repost! We casting now!”

This announcement comes off the back of his recent visit to Botswana where he attended the third annual Forbes Under 30 Summit, giving business advice to young entrepreneurs.
Nick, however, is not the first comedian to bring a successful American show to Africa.
In 2020 comedian Steve Harvey fulfilled a lifelong dream of bring his show Family Feud to the continent.
