It’s official, former Orlando Pirates and Koninklijke Voetbalclub Oostende middlefielder Andile Jali has signed with the Eastern Cape-based team, Chippa United.
Prior to this signing, Andile had been a free agent since December 2023, after parting ways with Moroka Swallows. Chippa announced the signing with the caption “Chippa United FC is delighted to announce the signing of the prominent, Andile Jali, for the upcoming season.” The length of the contract is yet to be divulged by the club.
With his vast experience both locally and internationally, Andile is set to bring in some well-needed veteran leadership skills to the Moroka Swallows team, looking to improve their position in the league. At 34 years of age, he has played for Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, Moroka Swallows and Belgian club Koninklijke Voetbalclub Oostende, where he was able to accumulate six total league titles.
Andile took to his own Instagram and shared a picture of himself signing with Chippa, with the caption “Home sweet home”. It is safe to assume the soccer star is in high spirits.

Internet users have not been holding back their opinions about Andile’s Chippa United signing, with some being overjoyed and some unsure how this will benefit the club. Some users are concerned about the player’s age factoring into his effectiveness, others going as far as saying Andile’s hesitancy to retire is due to his financial ill preparation.
