Eben Etzebeth has officially been named SA Rugby Player of the Year, and his wife, Anlia, shared an adorable reaction to the champ claiming his golden title on social media, with baby in tow.
Eben Etzebeth became the second-ever player to win the SA Rugby Player of the Year awards, back-to-back, in Johannesburg on Thursday evening.
The nation stands proudly behind the Springbok lock, and so does his supportive wife, Anlia, and their newborn baby girl.
Taking to Instagram on Friday to celebrate her hubby’s major win, Anlia posted a rare snap of herself and their baby reacting to the news of Eben winning the title.
The post reads:
“Go PAPPA!!! Ons is soooooo trots op jou Mnr SA Rugby Player of the Year! Love you! Van jou grootste cheerleaders! #8weeks #saplayeroftheyear #backtoback #motheranddaughter #rugby.”
“[Go dad! We are sooooo proud of you, Mr SA Rugby Player of the Year! Love you! From your biggest cheerleaders.]”

“We always say in the Springbok team that it’s all about the team. I may have been lucky to get the award tonight but I think any of my teammates could have gotten it. Thank you to the team and Rassie for selecting me,” said Eben after receiving his award.
“Obviously, 2023 was a big low for me and my family, but there were also a few massive highs like getting married, winning the World Cup, and my wife and I being pregnant. So yeah, it was a massive year for me,” he ended.
Congratulations to Eben earning his well-deserved win!
