This Mother’s Day the Mbonambi household found itself filled with bright smiles and tons of excitement – and this time it has nothing to do with rugby.
In a heartwarming Instagram post shared on Mother’s Day, Springbok rugby player Bongi Mbonambi and his wife Anastacia announced that they will soon expand their family of three to a family of four.
“I love being a mom, now I’ll be a mom of two in a few months. Surprise, surprise can only keep a secret for so long…” Stacy posted.
Attached to the post was a gallery of pictures of her and her five-year-old daughter Esa as they lovingly embraced the little one in Stacy’s stomach.

She continued: “Being a mom is so many things at once. I can’t describe it in one word, but it’s the best thing ever and it’s also the hardest thing ever. Only by God’s grace and mercy was I able to be the best mom to my girl; now, five years later, He blessed me with another.”
She added that God’s time was the perfect time and that she now finds herself in a much better place than she was five years ago.
Meanwhile, the double World Cup-winning dad, Bongi, could not be any more excited. In his own post, he wrote, “Happy Mother’s Day my liefie. Awesome mommy. Number two on the way.”
Their announcement comes just weeks after Handre Pollard and his wife Marise welcomed baby Hunter Andre Pollard into the world.
Prior to this, many other Springboks have become fathers after the World Cup, the list includes Eben Etzebeth, Faf de Klerk and Herschel Jantjies while Malcolm Marx and his wife Kirsten are also expecting their first child soon.
