The Estate actor Aubrey Poo is reportedly set to join the cast of Generations: The Legacy.
Earlier this year, the producers of the show brought back Karabo Moroka and Tau Mogale played by Connie Ferguson and Rapulana Seiphemo to increase viewership and to flesh out add new storylines. It’s no surprise that they’d bring in another top actor into the mix to further increase viewership. ZiMoja reports that Aubrey Pooe has joined the cast of the soapie and will make his first appearance next month.
It is reported, according to the aforementioned publication, that the producers of the show supposedly left Aubrey out when Connie and Rapulana rejoined the series in order to build more hype around the show and bring in more viewers. It’s further alleged that he has already been shooting with the production.
Following a year after the discontinuation of Mzansi Magic’s the Queen, Connie and Rapulana joined the cast of Generations: The Legacy. Rapulana‘s last appearance in the soapie was in April, when he and Karabo Moroka attended Mazwi Moroka’s (Musa Ngema) funeral.
Aubrey, known for his role as politician Castro Kamanga on SABC 3’s opera The Estate, has also appeared on Isidingo and Scandal, both of which have since ended.
According to a ZiMoja source, producers are attempting to increase viewership by bringing back the old ensemble and good actors. “They are trying to revive the show and also get more ratings,” adds the source. Aubrey has yet to confirm whether he will actually be on the show.
