South African Gqom queen, Babes Wodumo, took to Instagram and paid tribute to her former husband and musician, Mampintsha, just two years after his death.
Mampintsha passed away in December 2022 aged just 40 after he suffered a stroke. At the time of his passing, a media statement confirmed the news stating, “The star as he is affectionately known as Mampintsha, from multi-award winning group Big Nuz has suffered a minor stroke a week ago upon his return from a performance with Big Nuz.”
He left his partner behind, Babes Wodumo, who continues to preserve Mampintsha’s legacy and pay tribute to him at any opportunity. Despite the absence of his physical presence, she is confident that she has now gained a guardian angel in him.
“Talking about a man who fights for me even on the other side. We all make plans but God makes the final decision,” she captioned in a previous post.
On the day of the second anniversary of his death, she shared an image on Instagram of the couple and explained her love for him would never die.
“I still choose you,” she wrote.
