South African football icon and Bafana Bafana record goal scorer, Benni McCarthy, is celebrating 10 years of marriage to his wife, Stacey.
Benni and Stacey celebrated 10 years of marriage on Friday 24 May. Stacey, a former model, caught Benni’s eye when the two met on the set of a Nike commercial in 2008. Benni claimed it was “love at first sight”, The South African reported.
The couple wed on 24 May 2014 in Edinburgh, Scotland in a lavish football-themed wedding. Benni donned a kilt with knee-high socks and decorated the tables in honour of some of the clubs he played for: Seven Stars, Orlando Pirates, and FC Porto.
Both he and Stacey took to their Instagram timelines and posted some pictures of wrote sweet messages to each other to declare their love on their special day.
“Happy 10th Anniversary my love @staceymccarthy17 I love you ” Benni wrote.

The love birds received congratulatory messages from their friends and followers who shared:
“Happy anniversary to you both babe! Wishing you both the bestest day of celebrating. Lots of love, said a user on Stacey’s post.
“Happy anniversary beautiful people many more happy years together,” another user noted.
On the Manchester United coach’s page, internet users commented:
“Happy Anniversary to these two amazing human beings. Love u guys long time. Wishing you a lifetime of love & happiness.”
One user had more to tell Benni, commenting, “Bennie your cousin came for a check up at the hospital today. I’m taking gud care of him.”
