‘Who run the world? Girls’ Lead by whose fierceness? The Queen of femme pop of course.
Dubbed Queen Bey by her ever-growing number of fans, she’s recently acquired another name – ‘the first lady of music’ – as well a couple of record breaking accolades from the latest addition to her Beyhives fan base, the Guinness World Records.
Beyoncé Knowles has done it again, she has officially been inducted into the Guinness World Records Hall of Fame. In true Yoncé-style, she enters the 2023 Records Book with not just one entry, nor ten, but over a dozen of them, landing her the latest spot in the Hall of Fame alongside the world’s musical giants.
Just as a little teaser, two of her record-breaking entries include ‘Highest annual earnings for a female vocalist’, and ‘First act to debut at number one with their first six studio albums.’ She also snatched the top of Guinness’ list for female musician with the most Twitter engagements (retweets), not to mention co-grabbing the world record for ‘Highest earning couple in Hollywood ever’ with her husband Jay-Z.

She ‘got diamond on [her] neck, got diamonds on [her] records’ and as of the 2021 Grammys, she got the most trophies (28) any artist has ever won, female or male.
Last month, her album Renaissance secured the Billboard 200 album chart’s number one spot. So actually, make that seven albums debuting at number one. But this is no shocker really, her surprise self-titled ‘Surprise!’ album shattered album sale records – without any promotion, might we add – selling 828 773 copies in just 72 hours. 4 and Lemonade earned 332 000 equivalent album units and sold 190 000 physical copies.
While Beyoncé tops this year’s World Record list, fellow singer Billie Eilish has also landed several honourable mentions in the Hall of Fame. The 20-year old has nabbed a Golden Globe, Oscar, and Grammy, making her the youngest person to win the Triple Crown of film music awards. She is also the only female with the most consecutive Grammy nominations for Record of the Year.
