It seems that tensions are running high, as the late Ukhozi FM presenter Zanele Mbokazi’s family may have sidelined her widow husband, Bishop Mpendulo Nkambule.
As close family and friends of the Mbokazi-Nkambule continue to mourn the passing of the radio presenter and Crown Gospel Awards co-founder after she lost her 3-month lung cancer battle in Durban on the 12th of August.
As per reports by entertainment publication, ZiMoja, a close source alleged that since Zanele’s departure, some of her family members are not keen on her husband continuing her great work.
The entertainment publication stated that this started with the decision to continue the renowned gospel award show where the Bishop alongside board members held a press conference confirming that they would not stop.
The close source added that “Some family members are questioning why he is still around because Zanele is no more; they even suggested that he go back to his country of birth, eSwatini. It’s heartbreaking that people will say things like that when he has built a life here.”
According to news publication, DailySun, the Bishop was reported to have become the new executive producer of the Crown Gospel Awards and was set to take over his late wive’s duties.
He said, “We, as the board of the Crown Gospel Music Awards, are committed to celebrating the high standards that Zanele championed during her time at the helm of the Crown Gospel Music Awards. We acknowledge the profound legacy she has left behind, and we pledge to build upon it and take it further to the next level.
