The Grammy award winner Black Coffee recently revealed that he once bought a house from his neighbour just so he could be able to party in peace. He also claims that he wanted to separate his business life from his personal life as Nathi.

Black Coffee appeared on the British podcast, The Diary Of A CEO, and spoke to Steven Bartlett. The South African Dj opened up about various things, including his early years, the role music played in his household, the most pivotal days of his life, and more.

During the interview the DJ said while he was in the process of attempting to finalise his divorce from his estranged wife Enhle Mlotshwa, he moved out of their home which they built together into an apartment. He later found a house and asked his mother, along with other members of his family to move in with him. However, living with his mother bothered him a bit despite having the warmth of the family.

“I can’t bring my friends here, I can’t have a little party because my mom is in the other room,” he said.

As it played on his mind, he revealed that he got a phone call from a neighbour who told him that he was selling his house because he was moving overseas.

“It was like a solution so I bought the neighbour’s house,” Black coffee added.

He named it, “Black Coffee’ house,” he further explained why that house is and will forever remain special as it a house where he wants to build his legacy project for his children and a place where memories are created with his family.

“The neighbour’s house, that’s where my mom and children are going to stay. That’s a Nathi house. That’s where you’re going to find me on the floor, on the grass playing with my children, then next door, that’s the Black Coffee house,” he said.

Black Coffee also added that he “wants to build a Black Coffee house that will be like a future Black Coffee house — where he used to live … I’m very much intentional about the things I collect, the art on the wall. everything that I do is to create value in the house,” he said.
