Talented actor and theatre performer Bongile Mantsai will be joining the cast of Eastern Cape based telenovela Gqeberha: The Empire soon.
This news was announced by the broadcasting channel Mzansi Magic on their social media platform Instagram where they shared a teaser of the award-winning actor’s new character.
The character, according to the teaser seem to have been away for ten years, suggestive of ten years spent in jail. While talking to Luzuko (played by Mbulelo Grootbom) in the telenovela, the character adds that he would like to do one more heist, his last.
No stranger to controversial and antagonist characters, Bongile has played many villain characters that leave people shocked each time. His Mthunzi character on e.tv’s Scandal was one that many people loved to hate. Since then, he has gone played in many telenovelas and movies such including, Knuckle City, The Republic and The Wound.
Gqeberha: The Empire is a Mzansi Magic telenovela centered around a multi-millionaire husband to four wives Luzuko Mxenge, his businesses, dodgy dealings and his deceitful wives. The character is married to, Bulelwa (played by Zikhona Sodlaka), Zimkhitha (Zandile Msuthwana), Nozuko (Kay Bikisha) and Anathi Mxenge(Akhenime Mfenyana).
