South African actress, model, dancer, and director Brenda Ngxoli courageously shared her recent struggles, including enduring abuse from her own sister.
In a post shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Brenda opened up about the longstanding verbal abuse inflicted by her sister, Althea Lumka Ngxoli. The situation worsened significantly when Brenda, faced unemployment and returned home where her sister made her existence unbearable.
Shockingly, even after Brenda gave birth to her daughter Sky, her sister continued to subject her to relentless hostility.
Brenda detailed further allegations that her sister accused her of physically harming their mother and using drugs. She claimed that her sister, who accused her since Brenda’s time as a sangoma, had intentions to harm both her and their mother.
Earlier this year, Brenda also addressed an incident where actor David James reportedly used a racial term towards her calling her “k***ir meit” in front of the cast while filming the movie Sew the Winter to My Skin.
According to TimesLive, David James has admitted to using a racist slur towards Brenda Ngxoli during the filming. “I deeply regret any hurt Ms Ngxoli felt. I am sorry this regrettable incident still haunts her seven years later. I state unequivocally that I invite any further investigation of this incident by any competent authority including the Human Rights Commission. I would support every effort to ventilate this matter again thoroughly.”
