Recently, Brutal Fruit Spritzer launched a revolutionary global movement celebrating the power of women coming together, called The Pink Table. In-keeping with its ethos of marrying aspiration with accessibility, the brand announced that it will be taking The Pink Table to the beautiful the City of Lights during the iconic Paris Fashion Week 2025. Brutal Fruit Spritzer will bring together its fans – or as the brand refers to them, “besties” – from South Africa and its other markets around the world to connect, celebrate and create lasting memories together in a city most can only dream of visiting.
Brutal Fruit Brand Director, Candice van den Bosch explained that since the brand was launched 23 years ago, it has continued to build market share by understanding and acting on its besties’ desires. In 2018 this culminated in Brutal Fruit Spritzer’s Ruby Apple, which morphed traditional apple cider into the bold-yet-delicate drink of choice for South African women.
The quick rise in demand for Ruby Apple saw ordinary weekend bestie get-togethers organically develop into spirit-ual “Saturday Spritzers”, a brand-owned cultural occasion that resonated so profoundly with South African women that it garnered year-on-year leadership in share of voice against competitors and numerous industry awards and accolades.
Brutal Fruit Spritzer has since spread its footprint across Africa and into the UK, China and Brazil.
From local phenomenon to global movement
“The brand is now elevating its Saturday Spritzers into a global movement. Having seen the alchemy when women come together in authentic connection and unconditional acceptance, we believe this magic is replicable anywhere we have besties, and so The Pink Table is the next step in our brand journey,” said Candice.
She is clear however, that The Pink Table remains deeply rooted in its South African heritage. “South Africa gave Brutal Fruit Spritzer our voice, our character, and our understanding of what women truly want from a premium beverage experience. The Pink Table is our thank you to our South African besties who have made this brand what it is today, and an invitation to our besties globally to experience what makes these gatherings so special.”
The Grande Dame
Brutal Fruit launched The Pink Table against the luscious backdrop of the Cavalli Wine Estate in Cape Town, with host, Bonang Matheba’s effervescent energy perfectly reflecting the drink’s sparkling bubbles. DJs befitting of the “Coolest Brand in South Africa” – as per the GenNext Awards 2024 – are special guest Mama Gcina, – storyteller extraordinaire and venerated playwright and poet, set the stage onto which headliner and top homegrown recording artist, Ami Faku, exploded.
The breathtaking Pink Table itself, the glamorous Grande Dame of the event, was dramatically unveiled to gasps of delight. It is designed to be gently fluid in shape while bold and stunning in material, echoing the duality that Brutal Fruit Spritzer embraces in its own brand and in its besties– bold yet feminine, strong yet gentle, innovative yet inclusive. The winding curve of the Pink Table effortlessly unites the guests, drawing them into meaningful connection.
Looking ahead, The Pink Table movement will include customised experiences, limited-edition products, and digital platforms that enable women to create their own Pink Table wherever they may gather, including in their own homes.
“We believe in creating extraordinary moments that are within reach. The Pink Table is about elevating everyday gatherings into something memorable with Brutal Fruit Spritzers and what they represent. Whether it’s a Pink Table experience at Paris Fashion Week or a gathering in your living room with our take-home Pink Table packs, the essence remains the same: women connecting in spaces where they truly belong,” Candice concluded.
