Just days after South Africa saw the crowning of its first-ever Mister Supranational Dr Fezile Mkhize, yet another mzansi-born gem was crowned at the renowned beauty pageant.
It seemed as if this was a winning week for the nation of South Africa, first Dr Fezile Mkhize bagged the Mister Supranational title, the Springboks won their battle against Ireland and to top it off, Byroni Govender was crowned Ms Supranational Africa on Saturday evening, 6 July.
The event was held at Nowy Sącz, Lesser Poland where contestants from 68 different parts of the world competed for the coveted prize, with another South African in the form of Nico Panagio taking over the hosting duties.
On the night, Bryoni made it through to the top 12 but fell short of the top 5 positions. However, this did not mean that she would return home empty-handed.
This is because the awards were still presented to the highest-ranking contestant within the same continent – and this saw the former Miss South Africa runner-up become Ms Supranational Africa 2024.
