Last August, articles flooded the internet surrounding Bukiwe Keva’s departure from the popular television drama, Gomora.
Bukiwe Keva, who played Asanda, a rebellious high school learner, was reported to have been fired from the television series. This, however, wasn’t the case, according to both close family friends and the production house, Seriti Productions.
According to the rumours, Bukiwe was sick, resulting in her failing to show up to shoot. She was allegedly reported to have been fired shortly after via WhatsApp. Seriti Productions refutes these claims by stating the following: “Bukiwe’s contract was that of a call actor. Her character was story dependent and the storyline came to an end. Bukiwe was lovely to work with and we wish her all the best.”
Seriti Productions further stated that she was never fired, but had to leave the show.
According to a source from ZiMoja, the young actress had to relocate to the Eastern Cape to take care of her grandmother. The source further claims that she is very responsible and close to her grandmother. Thus, it makes sense why she would leave the show, especially since the show is coming to an end. Other actors who left the show include: Ceecee Ndaba (MaZet); Ntobeko Sishi (Ntokozo); Connie Chiume (MamSonto); Ntobeko Sishi (Ntokozo Dlamini) and Katlego Danke (Thati).
Despite her having to leave the show, Seriti Productions claims that there is no bad blood between them and the young actress.
Bukiwe Keva was also rumoured to be dating actor Senzo Radebe. She later stated that these claims were false. Bukiwe Keva does not wish to further comment on her personal life.
