While it has been seven years since the passing of pantsula rapper HHP, the impact that he has had on the current group of artists lingers on today.
In a recent Instagram post, the multi-award-winning rapper Cassper Nyovest shared a video clip of his childhood role model in which he expressed just how much he was missed. As with so many aspiring musicians, Cassper credited his rise to fame to HHP’s mentorship.
In a heartfelt post, he reflected on all the things that made HHP a remarkable man to be associated with.
He wrote: “I miss him so much today. Our chats, his wisdom, his humour and animated nature.
“What a giant! Thank you for everything grootman laka! If it wasn’t for you, there would be no Cassper Nyovest and many more!”

The legendary rapper, real name Jabulani Tsambo, was best known for producing numerous hits like So Amazing, Jigah, and many more before he tragically passed away in 2018 after committing suicide.
At the time, SowetanLive reported that he had been battling with depression and was later discovered by his helper in his home in Randpark Ridge in Johannesburg.
Meanwhile, several users have since flocked to the comment section, thanking Cassper for proudly keeping his legacy alive.
“I’ve never seen such a confident human…I see where you get it from,” one user commented.
Another wrote: “Thank you for honouring him and keeping his legacy alive. I will never forget your performance in the pouring rain at a Kaya FM family day. Spectacular!”
