It looks like justice for Cwecwe is going to be served one way or the other.
The story of a seven-year-old that was sexually violated at school late last year has touched many people.
On social media platforms, this has been the one thing people keep on talking about. We are seeing a lot of people standing up for Cwecwe as they do peaceful marches.
This story also touched a few celebrities who have been vocal about standing up for the child including Wiseman Mncube, DJ Zinhle, and Gugu Khathi.
Wiseman took to his Instagram and went live talking about the story and how painful it is as a father to hear such a horrible thing. He then posted a video on TikTok where he urged more men to join the initiative stating that he has seen that the majority of people supporting this were women. “When a child is made it is a man and a woman, therefore I believe this needs us to unite and show up for the child,” he said.

Gugu Khathi demanded AfriForum to be cancelled because AfriForum is representing the principal of Bergview College, Jaco Pieterse, who is one of the suspects implicated in Cwecwe’s rape case. According to COSATU Eastern Cape, AfriForum’s involvement is to protect the principal’s rights, despite his refusal to cooperate with the investigation by providing a DNA sample. This has sparked criticism, with many questioning AfriForum’s decision to support the principal amidst allegations of non-cooperation with the authorities.
In a video she posted on Instagram she said, “So this is what AfriForum wants to do to make South Africa great, they want to protect criminal, they want to get away with stolen land.”
She further argued that why do they need to protect someone who is standing on the way for parents finding out what happened to their daughter.

DJ Zinhle also took to her TikTok account and shared that the only reason she did not say much is because she is scared and doesn’t know what to say. She added that she would reach out to the mother, but added that she was just scared.
She left a message for Cwecwe “Cwecwe, we have failed you my baby but we will work hard to make sure you and other children will have a better future.”
