The female in the video has been nicknamed Naledi by Twitter users (Which translates to “star” in English). In the video the young girl can be seen singing towards the camera in a packed classroom as her classmates sing along with her.

The song tells s story of a young girl’s pain as she sings about how her father constantly sexually abuses her. The lyrics are from a song titled “ubaba Ulala Nami” (My father is sleeping with me)are from Big Zulu’s most recent album, “Lchwane Lenyoka.”
Many Twitter users have been reacting to the video and have also been re-sharing the short clip of the young girl singing but also noting how powerful and painful the lyrics within the song are. The song speaks to the issues that South African women and children face regrading gender base violence on a daily basis.
Twitter users spoke out against gender based violence;
Rape culture is so entrenched in our society it shows up in everything. I want to vomit. https://t.co/5t0zGPA32e

I see the post of Breezy, this is a very powerful song. A cry out for help to mom because monster dad is raping the child. Bathwele abafazi guys. Please teach your boy children to protect and respect women at all times. Please don’t raise a monster. It starts with you as a parent

“The song speaks of the major issue we faced with in South Africa which is women and child abuse,” Big Zulu said.
Big Zulu is asking South Africans to help find this amazing talent so she can feature on the singer’s music video which will be a dedication to women and children during the 16 Days of Activism for no Violence against Women and Children, which is held between the 25th of November to the 10th of December every year. “Let’s continue our fight against this matter,”he said.
