Bongekile Simelane better known as Babes Wodumo left many social media users worried after posting a video of herself at the graveyard opening a bottle of champagne, sipping and spiting it.
The video which left many social media users concerned about the mother of one showed the Wololo hitmaker walking towards the graves, giving the camera her back. She then raised her hands to open and sip on the bottle of champagne she had in her hands. In the background, her last song with her late husband Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo Ngithethelele played.
The song on the video featured lyrics from Mampintsha lyrics that says:
“Oh nkosi ndicel’uzube nathi, uzube nathi ngaso sonke isikhathi,yize nom’u sathane ezama ukusilinga nguwe kuphela onamandla futhi siyakudinga (Oh Lord please be with us, be with us Lord at all time, even the the devil tests us, you are the only power that we need).”
Talking about the song a few weeks ago Babes had said:
“We recorded both our albums sawaqeda womabili (finished both) but didn’t release cause we were letting BIG NUZ release 1st. When we were done out of the blue you requested senze lengoma (we do this song) little did I know it was the last song we did together. Mampintsha’s last prayer”Ngithethelele” #Albums Coming Soon# @mampintsha_shimora.”
Still not clear whether the video was a music video or not as the singer had not shared a caption for her post, social media users empathised with Babes over her loss.
