Renowned media personality Thato Sikwane, popularly known by his stage name DJ Fresh has hinted that he will soon be returning to radio following a long hiatus from the medium.
The 52-year-old is considered one of South Africa’s most decorated talents after earning himself quite a reputation for entertaining the masses on top commercial broadcasting stations such as 5FM, Metro FM, and YFM. He is often best known for his scintillating abilities on the DJ decks.
In 2021 the proud father and producer along with musician Euphonik, real name Themba Nkosi, were pulled off air following allegations of rape. In a joint statement, both DJs announced that they would be taking some time out in an effort to clear their name.
However, it was not long until Fresh eventually revealed that he would be parting ways with one of Primedia’s broadcasting stations 947 after failing to meet on common grounds.
However, with his life now appearing to be on an upward trajectory, he recently revealed that he will soon be making his way back to radio – this time with the SABC.
According to the news and entertainment publication TimesLive, Fresh disclosed the news at a Black Coffee Foundation event where he expressed that he was excited about his return.
“I’m doing exciting things and I’m excited that next year I’m back on radio. It’s been a while and that’s what I’m looking forward to for next year. Of course, I can’t say the name of the radio station I’m going to. At the moment you should watch my podcast, WAW: What A Week.”
