Sphe Ngwenya and Lebohang Naves, South African DJs famously known as Sphectacula and Naves, stood up for Gagasi FM after allegations made by Penny Ntuli of the radio station being toxic.
Radio personality Penny Ntuli left Gagasi FM after revealing that the station offered her a contract with a salary of R2 800 a month.
DJ Sphe and Naves spoke to Times Live and claimed that if allegations about the station being toxic were true, they would not have come back to work there. They did not mention anything related to payment and whether or not they were not happy about it.
The two DJs left Gagasi FM in 2019 to go to Metro FM.
They came back and joined a weekday afternoon drive-time show called The Gagasi FM Fast Lane with Zitso. They claimed this second season of them being on the station is better than the first one.
Naves claimed that they get regular check-ins from the station’s management and that there are DJ meetings held weekly.
Sphe and Naves told Times Live that they are cooking new music and they are working together with Beast, who they featured on their hit single titled “Bhampa”.
Naves told the publication that they might make an EP or an album and Beast will be part of it.
“We are looking at wrapping two or three half-baked songs, now and then adding them to the other five to see where we end up. It would be nice to drop before Durban July weekend,” Naves concluded
