Family of the late DJ Sumbody, real name Oupa John Sefoka has obtained ownership of Ayepyep Lifestyle in Cape Town.
The family of the musician who passed away in 2022 has allegedly received death threats and legal disputes from men who worked with DJ Sumbody.
Sunday World previously reported that the DJ’s business partner, Kagiso Setsetse had allegedly kicked the family out of business.
“Setsetse is not what he portrays himself to be, and he’s got his reasons for leaving South Africa. I don’t know what’s going on in the business. I have faced a barrage of intimidation and harassment from him. His lawyers sent me letters telling me to stay away from the business, and I did that,” the DJ’s brother revealed to the above-mentioned publication.
However, entertainment commentator Phil Mphela revealed on Monday that the family now has 50% ownership of the business.
“Sefoka family retains ownership of Ayepyep Lifestyle Capetown. In a legal settlement, the luxury entertainment establishment was returned to the family of the late DJ Sumbody (Oupa John Sefoka). The Sefoka family has now secured a 50% ownership stake in the business. Ayepyep Lifestyle Cape Town is set to reopen its doors on Friday 22 September 2023,” Phil tweeted.
