Record producer and Mthokozisi Khathi, popularly known as DJ Tira offers to pay e-hailing services R5000,00 to return his G-wagon car keys that he forgot.
The DJ took to social media to detail the occurrence of the incident he said that upon, requesting a ride on Uber to head to his destination OR Tambo Airport, he later realised that he had forgotten his car keys in the Uber.
As reported by entertainment publication, ZiMoja, the DJ said that the reason he offered the reward of R5000,00 was because the logistics of getting new car keys and programming them would cost about R12 000,00.
“The driver should know that I am not blaming him, it’s all my fault. I was careless. All I need is for him to reach out and give me the key back. I would really appreciate it and reward him,” he told the entertainment publication.
He expressed his fears of not wanting his G-wagon car keys to end up in the wrong hands and given how expensive the luxurious car is he hopes to get them back.
Internet users responded to his post with some even sympathising and sharing their experiences with forgetting items in an e-hailing service and never getting them back.
One Facebook user commented: “Increase the reward to R20K and I’ll bring those keys to you.”
Another user suggested the DJ post the details of the driver to get more traction
Another user detailed his experience saying, “I’m sorry Malume but chances of getting it back are slim. I lost a lot of things in Uber cars and reporting won’t help anything, they still say I didn’t see it. Safety is not guaranteed at all. Worse this Bolt is even full of drivers who are not using their own profiles and they robbing clients.”
