Renowned sneaker brand owner of ‘Drip Footwear’ Lekau Sehoana has allegedly been evicted along with his ex-wife and kids due to failure to pay R35k monthly rent at Johannesburg, Waterfall Estate.
According to entertainment publication, ZiMoja, the businessman’s family became homeless due to non-payment of their monthly rent at the estate, adding that, the decision to evict his ex-wife and son came after he didn’t settle the R35k rent after making the necessary arrangements.
The above-mentioned source also reported that Lekau’s ex-wife Lebogang had been trying to get ahold of the businessman to ensure that he paid the money he owed.
These reports come after the lease agreement between the businessman and the Waterfall Residents Developers stated that he owed them R35k every month and that his failure to default payment started late last year making it almost R100k in rental fees Lekau needed to pay.
Speaking on the eviction allegations Lebogang told ZiMoja, “We are tired of the abuse, the lies and tricks of Lekau, as we speak his very own son is homeless and out of school with no food and no clothes, He even got a court order to pay maintenance and take responsibility as he has not for years. In March 2024 he boldly lied during the launch of Claws sneakers saying his kids would remain in school regardless of the liquidation case against him knowing very well that his son has been staying at home for years and he had a maintenance court order against him.”
BrieflyNews adds that Lekau’s financial troubles have affected their son as besides not being up-to-date with their monthly rent the son had been kicked out of school due to school fees being owed.
