Fans and Springbok teammates alike recently took to social media to wish the Bok captain Siya Kolisi a steady recovery after being discharged from hospital.
The father of two recently took to his Instagram page where he shared a picture of himself along with his wife Rachel and children Nicholas and Keziah to confirm that he just exited the operation theatre, and the procedure was successfully completed.
In true Siya fashion, the springbok flank finds a bit of humour in every situation and shared by showing off his first meal – a french baguette.
“Operation went well! Will be back soon. First meal after merci @rachelkolisi,” he captioned the post.

Rugby publication SA Rugby Magazine reported that Siya – who now represents the French rugby club Racing 92 – sustained the injury last Saturday when his team played against the opposition team Bordeaux. However, he pushed through to complete the full 80 minutes of the Top 14 clash.
This is the second time that the player had to go under the knife, last year he injured his ACL that kept him side-lined for several months before making a remarkable early return to lift the William Webb Ellis Rugby World Cup back-to-back.
Following his recent post, many of his international teammates as well as other sportsmen wished him well.
Taking to the comment section, Stormers rugby player Damian Willemse wrote: “Family,” along with a heart accompanying his well wishes.
English footballer, Jordan Henderson who represents Siya’s favourite team Liverpool also shared some kind words writing: “See you soon brother! Recover well.”
Meanwhile, Siya is not the only Springbok who sustained a recent hand injury, so did Cheslin Kolbe who now plays for Japanese club Suntory Sungoliath. Cheslin shared a comment of his own writing: “Speedy recovery my brother.”
The two are expected to be fully fit come the international season which will see the Springboks playing three games against the Irish before later entering the Rugby Championship.
