After six long years of anticipation, Rihanna will perform the coveted Super bowl half-time show in February 2023. She declined an invitation to perform at the 2019 Super Bowl out of solidarity with Colin Kaepernick.
“Rihanna is a generational talent, a woman of humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every turn,” said Jay-Z in a statement; the hip hop artist’s entertainment agency, Roc Nation, is an executive producer of the half-time show. “A person born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most prominent artists ever. Self-made in business and entertainment.”
The news broke after the Barbados singer, posted a photo via her instagram page on the 25th of September 2022. The image shows her hand holding an NFL football which created a huge buzz among fans. Many were left confused while others were afraid to het their hops up.

“This better not be a 14 minute add [sic] of Fenty beauty,” one person tweeted in response to her post.
Soon after the post the NFL and Apple Music cleared up any confusion. “It’s on,” Apple Music tweeted it. “Rihanna will take the stage for the first ever Apple Music Super Bowl halftime show. On 2.12.23,” The NFL retweeted it.
Fan were quick to celebrate with one fan tweeting “I’ m at the Super Bowl if Rihanna there, Like for real.” the person said. Another tweeted “so excited,” another fan stated We’ve been starving to hear Riri’s vocals for over five years now. Rihanna is back to the dominion which has been hers, and will always be hers !!!”
