Recently, South Africa received news that seven suspects linked to the murder of multi-award-winning rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes were arrested, with further information stating that they all had to share in the total of R800,000 as a payment for their act.
Leading the murder investigation is KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, who has been hailed by many for an astounding job, managing to make an arrest exactly a year since the incident.
Kiernan and his close friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane met their fate on the 10th of February 2023, when two hitmen who were “allegedly” hired to kill the rapper shot and killed them both. According to the police briefing, Tibz was not supposed to be part of the hit.
Joining many South Africans who commended the police general for cracking the case and making arrests is Fikile Mbalula, who took to his social media platform X to personally extend his appreciation to the Lieutenant-General and Minister of Police Bheki Cele.
He shared:
“Good morning, South Africa, I personally want to extend a hand of appreciation to the South African Police Service for the arrest of AKA killers. Special thanks to the Commissioner and his team in KZN Lieutenant-General Mkhwanazi and the Minister of Police.”
